Sleep soundly knowing you've made a great choice for your family and the environment!

Do spend too much time in a light filled room trying to get your little ones to sleep? I was so frustrated with blackout blinds that let light in, fell off and smelt of toxic chemicals. So I created Mahalo Eco Blinds!

•Made from eco-friendly materials, they are non-toxic with no unpleasant odours. Designed to be industrially compostable.

•Tough and flexible allowing them to move around window sills, leaving no gaps.

•Blinds attach to your window frame with adhesive hook and loop, which always stays in place! Once installed ( see our instructional video), they attach and remove in seconds.

•Blinds are 1.5m x 2.5m (4.92 x 8.3 ft)

*There may be some chipping in the ink over time from use and folding. This is due to using water-based ink (no toxins!)

•We do not recommend they adhere to painted or rough surfaces.

FAQs

What are the blinds made from?

Our blinds are made from industrially-compostable materials, consisting of corn starch PLA (Polylactic Acid) and PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate, a compostable ingredient that bonds the renewable ingredients together).

Unlike petroleum-based plastic, cornstarch material is compostable and renewable, making it an excellent choice for an eco-friendly material.

The material is tough and flexible.

Because of the thickness to create blackout, they need to be industrially composted at the end of their life.

How long do they last?

Due to the durable nature of the material, our blinds can be used over and over, thousands of times. Because they are industrially compostable, they need the perfect composting environment to break down.

There may be some chipping in the ink over time from use and folding. This is due to using water-based ink (no toxins!)

Our blinds have been used daily for 18 months and are still strong. NOTE- each blind may be different.

We guarantee our blinds for 3 months (when used according to instructions, no sharp objects etc) with a free replacement.

How do I cover larger windows?

Once you measure your window frames, you can use two blinds to cover larger windows. Use the adhesive hook and loop to combine the two blinds to create one larger blind. Easy!

You may need to cut to size. If you don't need 2 full blinds, maybe go halves in one with a mate or use the leftover for another smaller window!

Do you ship Worldwide?

Yes, we do! Either select Aus/NZorUSA/rest of the World

Can they adhere to painted surfaces?

No. Unfortunately, we can't recommend adhering the adhesive to a painted surface. In saying that, I have! But I don't mind the paint coming off eventually. It's worth it to me. We have customers who check with landlords first as they may have some spare paint to touch up once you move out. NOTE- it will definitely take the paint off at some point.

We only recommend adhering to aluminium window frames. NOT the window. We cannot guarantee there will be no residue left behind. If there is, you can simply use coconut oil to rub it off!

How long does shipping take?

We will always dispatch your order within 1-2 days. Once shipped we can not guarantee a time for delivery, however, the average delivery rate is 3.3 days domestically, and up to 14 business days Worldwide.

Do I need to cut the blinds?

Depending on the shape and size of your blinds you may need to cut to size (simply with scissors). If your blind is only too big one way (either length or width) there is no need to cut, and you can simply fold as shown here in FAQs on Instagram
